ködade two gives the work some room

3 min read

Ködade 2.0.2 fixes a ridiculous interruption: selecting a terminal should not make the chat beside it disappear.

i released that Mac build on august 21. the release notes cover the fixes to chat and terminal ownership, standalone splits, and the sidebar’s active selection.

after the first public release, the work became less about getting everything into one window and more about giving each piece enough room to use.

three tabs in the download

the 2.0.2 workspace opens with Agents, Code, and Editor tabs. they share a workspace sidebar, and switching tabs keeps the other work running in the background.

Code puts KödChat beside a terminal. starting a terminal beside a chat keeps it with that chat’s workspace; starting a chat beside a standalone terminal brings the existing terminal and splits into the thread. the classic 1.x layout is still available in this release.

less window bookkeeping.

and structured chat has expanded. Claude Code and Codex are joined by Grok Build and OpenCode, all through their official CLIs. Ollama has a local chat path too, but that path is chat-only: it cannot read project files or run tools.

those details are in the README at the release tag. using the tagged version matters here; the default branch already describes work beyond this installer.

prepare a repeatable agent

the Agents tab lets me put a provider, a system prompt, selected KödSkills, and attached MCP Connections into a reusable persona, then prepare a run using that setup instead of assembling it again.

the run becomes a KödWork background task with progress and review. that puts the question “what did this agent actually produce?” beside the configuration that shaped its work.

but preparation is only half the interaction. once a run finishes, i still need to inspect the output and ask follow-up questions without losing my place in another project.

the task screen came afterward

the dedicated Task tab landed in PR #108, after 2.0.2. PR #109 added post-run conversation and a more useful accepted-task view.

those are development changes as of september 8. they are not a reason to promise a fourth tab in the current public download.

that distinction also applies to the longer roadmap. KödLocal, KödWhisper, remote desktop features, and Windows work remain under development. Linux desktop support is planned. the August Windows target in my older article elapsed without a supported public Windows release.

the shell still belongs to you

Ködade continues to launch the agent CLIs with your existing shell environment and authentication. it does not add a model-billing layer or require a Ködade account.

KödMem can keep readable project context with a searchable local index, and KödHarness handles skill and MCP setup around those CLIs. the application is Apache 2.0.

the supported 2.0.2 download is signed and notarized for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 13 or newer. if your work belongs entirely in a terminal, the separately released Ködade CLI is worth a look.

open a chat, put a terminal beside it, and switch away. the work should still be there when you come back.
