About
who i am
i’m ContractorKeith — 37 years in construction. electrician, plumber, GC, home builder, estimator, PM, owner, and anything else you can think of. in 2026 i left commercial estimating and committed full time to agentic engineering.
what this is
a couple years ago i started building software with ai. i’ve broken more things than i ever did building buildings, but i kept shipping and the work became the job. this site is where i write about what i’m building, what i’m learning, and whatever else comes to mind.
i work with Claude Code, Codex, Grok, and other agents. the models can swing fast. my job is deciding what gets built, setting the constraints, reading the work, and making sure the finished thing holds up.
what i’m working on
- Ködade — the open-source agentic development environment i use to run my own work. KödChat, real terminals, files, an editor, GitHub, browser tools, local memory, and agent harness management in one native app. the first macOS release is out under Apache 2.0.
- Contractor Takeoff — a bid command center for specialty subcontractor teams, built on the free contractor-bid engine.
- plan-markup-app — a mac-native pdf takeoff tool and browser app. my answer to bluebeam bloat. the repo is private while it is rough.
- pancreati app — a privacy-first tracker for chronic pancreatitis patients. i live with CP, and i’m building the tool i wished existed: meal logging, pain tracking, enzyme schedules, and recipes that won’t put you in the ER.
- workspace-cli — one rust CLI for all of google workspace, built from google’s discovery service at runtime
- homebrew-cli-toolbelt — 40+ modern cli tools for macos in one install, with cheatsheets
- ai-writing-skill — a claude code skill that keeps AI slop out of my writing. every post here goes through it.
- this site — built with astro, deployed to cloudflare pages
the full list lives on the projects page and my github.
